t was quite unlike Marlene to be found in the Great Hall during her free time. She usually hung out in the astronomy tower or the grounds when she had nothing to do. Today though, Marlene had had an urge to go to the Great Hall, and it had nothing to do with hunger. She had eaten plenty during lunch, plus her last period transfiguration class had certainly taken her appetite away. How could she even consider eating now, when McGonagall had just turned one of the resident house elves into a pork? Sure the professor had promised to change it back, and she had done so at the end of the class, but it had traumatized Marlene enough to actually make her stand up and tell the teacher off right there in the classroom. Maybe McGonagall had forgotten to unswitch one of those poor elves and the students had eaten it during lunch? [/blockquote][/blockquote]I
ell one way or another, Marlene had ended up going a slight bit overboard with her accusations toward the professor, and had ended up with detention for the entire of the week. Joy. Now she was stuck having to sit in a classroom for hours just watching time go by. Thank goodness she had never been named a prefect. Who knew how fast she would have had it taken away from her for acting inappropriately? In other words, obtaining over ten detentions every single year[/blockquote][/blockquote]W
hat an old hag." Marlene mumbled as she entered the Great Hall. Now she had something else to worry about. McGonagall was sure to keep a close eye on her from now on, and that meant no more late night sneaking out to meet anyone. "Bloody great." Marlene mumbled as she sank down in a seat at the Slytherin table. She crossed her arms on the table and rested her forehead on them, contemplating her misery.[/blockquote][/blockquote]"W
ithin the past week, it seemed that all that ever happened to Marlene were bad things. It seemed as though karma had it in for her, and was going to make her know it through any way possible. Everything had started when her mother had talked to her before she hopped on the Hogwarts Express. She had never actually liked her mother. She never seemed to comprehend Marlene and the fact that she hated the whole 'purebloods are better' thing. And now she had somehow managed to get her betrothed. At least she was sure that no one at Hogwarts knew about it yet. Maybe if she could keep it on the low for at least until May, then things shouldn't end up being too bad. Though with her luck? Every pureblood within a hundred mile radius of her mother had heard, which meant that a lot of the slytherin students would know. Just what she needed. To be teased about it by her housemates for the entire of th eupcoming year.[/blockquote][/blockquote]W
