characters involved:
MARLENE SOPHIA MCKINNON
SIRIUS ORION BLACK
"Mother! Is there no possible way that ..."
"No, Marlene. You are going to do it and that is my final word."
Marlene McKinnon was never supposed to be sorted into
Slytherin. Sure she could manipulate others when she wanted,
but she had a good heart. She has always believe that it was
her pureblood status that made the sorting hat choose Slytherin
for her house. Since then she's always considered her blood to
be bad luck for her, and it seems that it hasn't finished with the
bad luck just yet.
"That old hag! I don't even live under her roof and look what
she's done Prongs! I'm betrothed! To a Slytherin!"
Sirius Black moved out of his parents house two years ago
before his fifth year. He moved in with his best friend James
Potter and his parents. He was sure he had walked out on his
family for good, and he wouldn't have anything else to do with
them unless it was to torment his younger brother at school. He
was very wrong in thinking so, though.
Sometime in the summer before going into their seventh year,
Marlene and Sirius' mothers decided that the eldest of their
children should be assured that they were going to marry a
pureblood, to keep the family lineage absolutely pure. It ended
up being that the two woman bumped into each other while
shopping after ten years of not having seen each other. They
decided without consent of their children, to betroth their eldest,
and decided to break the news to them just before they got on
the train to Hogwarts.
Not wanting any part of it, Marlene and Sirius agreed to just
ignored the whole thing while they each tried to come up with
an idea as to how to convince their mothers to not make them
do it. In the meantime, Sirius continued to go around and flirt
with every passing girl, and Marlene continued to try to escape
reality by sleeping with just about any guy she crossed paths
with.
in the end, will either Sirius or Marlene come up with an idea to
discourage their mothers from going forward with the whole
thing? Or are they going to have to try and live with each other
for as long as they live?
